About the founder
I built Wage Gauge because I was one of those people who started working without anyone ever really teaching me how to handle money.
Most of us didn't grow up with proper budgeting guidance. You get a job, or a few jobs. Pay comes in pieces — shifts, tips, gigs, overtime. Bills still hit on a schedule. And somehow you're supposed to just know what you can spend, what to save, and how not to blow whatever's left. Nobody hands you that playbook at 18.
That's who this app is for. Student-aged users, and anyone still figuring it out the hard way. Not people who already have a spreadsheet and a sinking fund. People who are earning for the first time, or earning in a messy way, and need something that actually matches how their money shows up.
Wage Gauge lets you see what you're making in real time. Log the work. Track the extra costs. Watch the week and the month add up as they happen. See what's already spoken for. See what's left. When you're ready, put the surplus somewhere it can grow instead of disappearing.
I didn't want another finance app that talks down to you or assumes you already know what you're doing. I wanted the tool I wish I had when I first started getting paid — simple enough to use on a shift, useful enough that you actually start understanding your money.
That's Wage Gauge. Built by someone who didn't get the guidance either.
